GDP Cloud and the hosted gateway coordinate account identity, transport, sessions, queueing, and bounded hosted services. They do not become an unrestricted remote shell or replace GDP Desktop’s local repository authority.
Know what the hosted layer does
The hosted layer provides OAuth and account identity, connected GDP sessions, MCP-style request transport, queue and result delivery, bounded usage or entitlement controls, Demo Workspace support, and account-linked node/mobile coordination foundations.
Use the public MCP endpoint to connect an authorized AI host.
Use Demo Workspace when you want a seeded zero-install review flow rather than a private local repository.
Treat queue identity, admission state, and hosted session metadata as coordination facts rather than proof of local effects.
Separate admission from execution
Hosted admission can decide whether an eligible request runs now, waits, or is blocked by quota or security policy. That decision controls hosted capacity and transport; it does not grant repository, task, terminal, or provider-Send authority that local GDP policy would otherwise deny.
Billing, plan, entitlement, queue priority, and license state are not execution authority. This Help article intentionally does not freeze a future pricing or packaging model.
Understand the data boundary
GDP is local-first but not offline-only or zero-knowledge. When an AI host requests repository context, selected bounded outputs may pass through the gateway to that host; submitted patch text and Suggested Check metadata may also transit short-lived gateway storage before reaching Desktop.
Do not connect private repositories unless the configured data flow is acceptable to you.
Privacy masking can reduce exposed context but does not turn the hosted relay into a complete provider-residency system.
Material local effects still require authorized local policy and fresh GDP evidence.
A successful gateway response, queued job, or model statement is not proof that a local patch, command, commit, push, or deployment occurred.
