How Refunds and Cancellations Work
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how Me the Tech handles subscription cancellations, refund requests, consulting engagements, and project payments. It forms part of the Terms of Service and should be read together with the Privacy Policy. The goal is simple: if a genuine customer problem can reasonably be made right, I will try to make it right. At the same time, a refund process must not become a way to consume substantial value and then shift the cost to other users. Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
The Principles I Apply
Refund decisions are guided by the same user-first and transparency principles used across Me the Tech.
A genuine service or billing problem is reviewed on its facts rather than rejected by a blanket no-refund rule.
If Me the Tech materially fails to provide what was purchased and the problem cannot reasonably be corrected, refund, partial refund, credit, or another fair remedy may be appropriate.
Cancellation and refund are different actions: cancellation normally stops future renewals, while a refund reverses all or part of a payment.
Mandatory consumer rights and payment-provider obligations take priority over any discretionary rule in this Policy.
Good-faith complaints and legitimate consumer-rights requests are not treated as abuse.
GDP Cloud & Recurring Subscriptions
GDP Cloud subscriptions renew at the selected billing interval until cancelled. Billing management is provided through the payment provider's hosted customer portal.
You can use the billing-management action in your Me the Tech profile to open the provider portal and cancel an eligible GDP Cloud subscription.
A normal cancellation stops future renewals. Unless the provider, purchase terms, an approved refund, or mandatory law requires otherwise, paid access continues until the end of the current paid entitlement period.
Unused time after a normal cancellation is not automatically refunded.
An approved full refund for a billing period may end the paid entitlement associated with that refunded period after the payment provider confirms the refund.
A partial refund does not by itself automatically revoke the remaining subscription entitlement unless that outcome is separately agreed, required by law, or required by the payment provider.
When a Refund Is Most Likely to Be Appropriate
The following examples are strong reasons for a refund review. They do not replace mandatory rights or prevent review of other good-faith situations.
A duplicate charge, incorrect charge, or another confirmed billing error.
A material failure on Me the Tech's side that prevents access to the purchased service and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time.
The delivered paid service is materially different from the description or agreed scope and the problem cannot reasonably be corrected.
An accidental purchase or renewal reported promptly, especially where there has been little or no meaningful use, may be considered case by case.
A refund or withdrawal right applies under mandatory consumer law, the payment provider's binding rules, or another applicable legal requirement.
Cases That Do Not Automatically Create a Refund
A request can still be reviewed, but the following situations do not automatically mean a refund is due unless mandatory law or a specific agreement says otherwise.
Changing your mind after substantial use of a digital service or after significant value has already been consumed.
Unused time remaining after an ordinary subscription cancellation where paid access remains available through the end of the billing period.
Issues caused solely by a third-party service, local environment, unsupported configuration, or customer-controlled system when the purchased Me the Tech service itself remains available as described.
A request that conflicts with a specific project agreement, accepted milestone, or separately agreed commercial term.
A request based only on a price change that applies to a future renewal and was disclosed before that renewal.
Consultations
Consulting is generally invoiced after the meeting under the current service model, so a refund is often not relevant unless a consultation was prepaid under a separate arrangement.
Consultation cancellations should be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time, consistent with the Terms of Service.
Late cancellations or no-shows may result in forfeiture of the session where a paid or reserved session applies.
If Me the Tech cancels a prepaid consultation and a reasonable reschedule is not accepted, the affected prepaid amount will be refunded unless another remedy is agreed.
Any different cancellation or refund rule stated in a specific consulting agreement takes precedence to the extent permitted by law.
Custom Projects & Milestone Work
Custom development and project work are governed primarily by the applicable proposal, statement of work, or project agreement because scope, acceptance, third-party costs, and milestones differ between engagements.
There is no universal rule in this Policy that automatically makes every project deposit or milestone non-refundable.
A refund, credit, or adjustment may take into account work already performed, accepted milestones, non-recoverable third-party costs, unperformed scope, and the reason the engagement ended.
If Me the Tech cannot deliver a material agreed scope and no reasonable replacement or correction is accepted, the undelivered portion should be addressed fairly under the project agreement and applicable law.
A project-specific written agreement may provide more detailed payment, cancellation, acceptance, and refund terms.
Fraud, Chargeback & Refund Abuse
Being customer-first does not require accepting fraudulent or manipulative use of the refund process.
Where legally permitted, a discretionary refund may be declined when there is credible evidence of fraud, knowingly false claims, coordinated abuse, repeated refund manipulation, or an attempt to retain substantial consumed value after payment reversal.
A chargeback, provider dispute, or refund-risk event may be reviewed together with the associated account, subscription, entitlement period, and billing evidence.
Access may be limited or suspended where necessary to investigate fraud or protect the platform, but payment status alone does not grant or bypass GDP's separate security and execution-authority controls.
Good-faith disputes, accessibility issues, service failures, and valid statutory claims must not be mislabeled as abuse merely because they create cost or operational work.
How to Request and Process a Refund
Refund requests are reviewed with the minimum information reasonably needed to identify the purchase and understand the issue.
Contact support@methe.tech or use the Contact page and identify the account email, relevant order or subscription if available, and the reason for the request.
Do not send full payment-card numbers, passwords, access tokens, repository secrets, or unrelated private data with a refund request.
If a refund is approved for a payment processed by Lemon Squeezy, Me the Tech will initiate or approve the refund through the provider workflow. The provider and payment network determine when funds appear on the original payment method.
Refunds may be full or partial depending on the facts, the service involved, mandatory law, and any applicable agreement.
A refund decision does not require storing GDP MCP tool-call payloads or repository contents as billing evidence.
Mandatory Consumer Rights
This Policy is a commercial policy, not a waiver of non-waivable rights.
If applicable law grants a cooling-off, withdrawal, refund, conformity, or other mandatory remedy, that law controls even if this Policy would otherwise be more restrictive.
Immediate access to a digital service does not by itself remove a mandatory right. Any legally permitted limitation or loss of a withdrawal right applies only when the requirements of the applicable law have actually been satisfied.
Nothing in this Policy prevents a customer from using remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.
